Scribd

Is a Web 2.0-based document-sharing website which allows users to post documents of various formats, and embed them into a web page using its iPaper format. Scribd was founded by Trip Adler, Tikhon Bernstam, and Jared Friedman in 2006. Scribd's major competitors are Docstoc, edocr, WePapers, and Issuu.
The advantages of Scribd are several, allow you to search within the document, label, zoom the text and it creates - or intended - to create a community that discusses and evaluates the documents. Problems Scribd? In a much smaller scale, share the problem with Youtube upload copyrighted material and has not cleared the doubts of how it will monetize the service, did allow users to charge for downloads? ¿Publicity associated with the context given the content of the works shared? Find driving user download "no payment"? Possibly one of these three options, but in any case Scribd is presented as a very interesting option.
